Apology Two

Before you continue reading, please realize that the story you are about to read is not literally true. But I am asking you to play with the idea that it may be metaphorically true.

At many times in our history we have identified ourselves with the latest and greatest technology. I am not asking you to literally believe that you are a computer. I am asking you to play with the idea that your neural system may function in a manner similar to a computer's. What I am asking you to do is to pretend the following story to be true. And then to see what happens.

Everyone can pretend because everyone can play. And even though I am asking you to pretend that you are a computer, please do not stick any fingers or tongues into any electrical sockets. Because you are not a silicon based computer. You are a carbon based human being. You need food, water, rest, air, and sex. And one day you will die. Clear?
